Hear Our Voice speak out about Reading
Hear Our Voice have been sharing what they value most about living in Reading at Your Place Our Place.
They’ve been giving their input into what places in the town are important to them – like Reading Mencap – and what is needed to ensure they are accessible to people with learning disabilities as part of the Community Consultation for Quality of Life (CCQOL) project.
Hear Our Voice (formerly Coffee Club) meet on a Monday morning at the Museum of English Rural Life – an important part of their remit is to take part in consultations and give views from their perspective.
People are leaving comments about all sorts of places they enjoy visiting and saying what they like about them and how the places make them feel.
For example, Reading Mencap is a great place and staff are lovely!
You can visit Your Place Our Place in person – on the ground floor of Broad Street Mall by the Poundland shop, Oxford Road RG1 7QE, where you can post your comments on the map or use a tablet to add information for consultation. There’s always someone to assist with this there.
Alternatively, there’s a digital platform for you to have a say and pin what places are important to you and how they make you feel.
You can do this by clicking this link: https://ccqolreading.commonplace.is from your phone, laptop or tablet devices. You have until 31 March to say what you like, or don’t like, about Reading.
When Hear Our Voice visited Your Place Our Place, they took part in a block printing session run by Jelly.
