It's a big thank you from us

We would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who uses our services, their families and carers and to all our supporters for being there for us over the last few months.

People with a learning disability and their families may have been feeling particularly isolated and anxious during Covid-19, so we are doing our best to make sure that everyone who needs support is getting it.
While our face-to-face services remain closed for the time being, we are providing practical and emotional support to 150 people and delivering activity packs to more than 90 children and adults.
To date, we have delivered:

  • 1000 microwave meals
  • 604 activity packs
  • 91 masks
  • 91 bottles of hand sanitiser.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our survey to find out how our support has made a difference to them during lockdown:

94% of respondents said having an activity pack delivered is helping to keep them occupied.
97% said receiving the activity packs makes them feel more positive.
90% feel safer and less anxious as a result of support from our Family Advisers.
87% feel less lonely as a result of our support during lockdown.

Our Coronavirus Emergency Appeal, which we launched in the spring, raised £3,378, thanks to 60 individuals, plus several organisations, who donated. This has been a huge help in enabling us to carry out the support outlined above.

Thank you - together we are ensuring that people with a learning disability are not forgotten.
