Please join us for a Carers Information and Advice Day on Wednesday 10 June from 9:30am –  2:30pm in Broad Street Mall to meet with organisations\, such as Reading Borough Council and The Reading and West Berkshire Carers Partnership\, who can signpost you to support\, ensure you are aware of what you are entitled to and how to access the support. \nWhether you have been caring for a loved one for years or are new to caring\, this event is designed especially for you. \nDrop in and chat directly with people who may be able to offer support to make your daily life a bit easier. \nWhen: Wednesday 10 June \nTime: 9:30am – 3:00pm \nWhere: Broad Street Mall\, Reading \nStalls feature local specialists who understand the pressures you are facing: \nManaging money: Get debt advice from Reading Borough Council’s Senior Debt Advice Officer. \nLegal advice: Chat through legal protections with the team from Blandy & Blandy\, specialists in Wills\, Probate and Trusts\, Court of Protection and Deputyships. \nLocal support: Meet the people behind the Carers Partnership – Age UK Reading\, Reading Mencap and CommuniCare and find out more about Carer’s Assessments\, Emergency Plans and Carer’s Cards. \nHealth & hospital navigation: Speak directly with Karen O’Leary\, Carers Lead at the Royal Berkshire Hospital\, to learn how the hospital supports local carers. \nCancer screening: Talk to Charlotte Burgess from NHS England about breast screening. \nSpecialist teams: The Learning Disability and Neurodiversity Team will be on hand to talk about the support they can offer. \nTime for yourself: Check out Compass Recovery College\, which runs free workshops specifically designed to help carers protect their own mental health and well-being. \nJust drop in.
