Get creative and wear your brightest\, most colourful\, wackiest shoes to make everyone smile. \nHow to get to Forbury Gardens\nForbury Gardens are located between the town centre and the ruins of the 11th century abbey\, not far from Reading Station. \nParking is limited so please use public transport if possible. \nThere are limited disabled parking spots at The Forbury opposite Reading Crown Court. \nThe nearest public car park is Queens Road. \nWhen you arrive\nPlease aim to arrive between 11.45 and 11.55am for registration\, which will be at the Reading Mencap gazebo. \nTimings\n12.00 Welcome and warm up at the bandstand with Jolene. \n12.10 The walk will start! \n1.15 Medals and certificates will be presented. \nRefreshments\nPlease bring a full\, refillable water bottle. \nYou are very welcome to bring a picnic and camp chairs. You will be able to leave belongings in the Reading Mencap gazebo (please make sure they are named). Please remember to take all your litter home with you. The Butterfly Community Cafe\, a mobile catering van which teaches life skills to young people with learning disabilities\, will be in the gardens selling snacks and drinks. There is also an onsite cafe in Forbury Gardens. \nToilets\nThere is an accessible toilet in Forbury Gardens by the cafe. There will also be two portable toilets onsite\, one of which is also accessible. \nFurther accessible toilets are available in Reading Museum\, Blagrave Street RG1 1QH. \nWhat to wear\nDon’t forget to wear colourful – but comfortable – shoes and dress for the weather.
