Information fair for Reading Carers

Whether you have been caring for a loved one for years or are new to caring, this event is designed especially for you.
Drop in and chat directly with people who may be able to offer support to make your daily life a bit easier.
When: Wednesday 10 June
Time: 9:30am – 3:00pm
Where: Broad Street Mall, Reading
Stalls feature local specialists who understand the pressures you are facing:
Managing money: Get debt advice from Reading Borough Council’s Senior Debt Advice Officer.
Legal advice: Chat through legal protections with the team from Blandy & Blandy, specialists in Wills, Probate and Trusts, Court of Protection and Deputyships.
Local support: Meet the people behind the Carers Partnership – Age UK Reading, Reading Mencap and CommuniCare and find out more about Carer’s Assessments, Emergency Plans and Carer’s Cards.
Health & hospital navigation: Speak directly with Karen O’Leary, Carers Lead at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, to learn how the hospital supports local carers.
Cancer screening: Talk to Charlotte Burgess from NHS England about breast screening.
Specialist teams: The Learning Disability and Neurodiversity Team will be on hand to talk about the support they can offer.
Time for yourself: Check out Compass Recovery College, which runs free workshops specifically designed to help carers protect their own mental health and well-being.
