Volunteer at Reading Mencap

Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community in Reading? Do you want to gain valuable experience, meet new people, and make a tangible difference in someone’s life?

Treasurer Trustee

We’re looking for a new Treasurer to join our board of Trustees and help us manage our finances. This role would suit someone who is looking to use their financial expertise (gained professionally or as a volunteer) to make a meaningful impact to the lives of local people with learning disabilities.

Key responsibilities include reviewing income and expenditure, supporting the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and help ensure the charity operates within its means and plans ahead financially.

We are looking for someone who is happy to take a hands-on approach and who enjoys working as part of a small team. This is a voluntary role and you will work closely with the Bookkeeper, other Trustees and staff involved in day-to-day finances. Board meetings are held 4 – 6 times a year and there will also be a requirement to review finances or provide advice when needed.

Further information is available in the role description. If you are interested in applying, please send your CV to office@readingmencap.org.uk or call us on 0118 966 2518.
