4ME Activities Service
Reading Mencap’s 4ME Activities Service provides engaging opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to enjoy a range of daytime activities that support their health and wellbeing.
What We Offer
Our members play an active role in choosing their activities. Options range from sports like basketball and tag rugby to creative pursuits such as cooking, drama, and crafts. During the summer, we enjoy outdoor activities like canoeing and tennis. We also bring in expert instructors for specialised sessions, including yoga, tai chi and dance.
Exploring the Community
We love to explore the local community! Our minibus takes us to various locations, including local museums, gardens, leisure centres, parks, and cafes. We’ve also had exciting days out to attractions like Legoland and Beale Park.
Thanks to the generosity of our funders including The Arnold Clark Community Fund, The St Laurence Relief in Need Trust, and the Morrisons Foundation we are able to offer these activities free of charge.
The service runs Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm at 21 Alexandra Road, Reading RG1 5PE.
Different levels of personal care are given according to an individual’s needs and members are always supported by fully trained, experienced and DBS-checked staff.
For more information and to ask about fees, telephone the office on 0118 966 2518 during office hours (9.30am – 3.30pm) Monday to Friday.
The service can be paid for using a Direct Payment or through a Council Managed Budget.
